In India, the silent rise of blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma is claiming tens of thousands of lives each year.
In 2021 alone, more than 70,000 people lost their lives to these diseases. Alarmingly, many patients are diagnosed late or drop out
of treatment due to financial and access barriers. For young adults and even children, the journey is particularly daunting—yet with
timely detection and proper care, survival outcomes can be dramatically improved.
At the same time, breast cancer has become the most common cancer among Indian women, with cases steadily rising year after year. By 2025, it is estimated that over 2.3 lakh Indian women will be newly diagnosed. Tragically, more than half of these women are diagnosed at advanced stages (III/IV), leading to survival rates far lower than in high-income countries. Limited awareness, stigma, and lack of early screening continue to be major barriers.
Champions of Courage was created to shine a light on the realities of breast and blood cancers. By sharing real patient stories—of resilience, hope, and determination—we aim to raise awareness, inspire early action, and build a support network for patients, caregivers, and families. Behind every statistic lies a human story that deserves to be heard, honoured, and celebrated. More than just a campaign, Champions of Courage is a movement that places patients, survivors, and caregivers at the heart of the conversation—honouring their strength while inspiring others through their journeys of courage and resilience.
Sharing stories openly helps reduce stigma, encourages timely medical action, and makes it easier for others to speak up.
Personal voices highlight barriers and inspire improvements in care, support, and awareness at every level of society.
Real experiences show patients and caregivers that they are not alone, and that healing and progress are possible.
Patients and caregivers with stories of strength and connection.

A supportive community that listens, shares, and uplifts.
Transform fear into courage, stigma into understanding, and isolation into solidarity.
At its core, Champions of Courage is about ensuring that no patient feels unseen or unheard. By capturing and sharing these authentic journeys, we aim to spark conversations, inspire hope, and bring about a lasting cultural shift in how breast and blood cancers are understood and faced in India.
